New Jersey Food -- Cafés

Quick Reference:
The Filling Station, Morristown
Borders Books Coffeeshop, Route 10 (East Hanover)

The Filling Station

This café has a pretty basic type of snack fare, but not bad. Three of us went here on New Year's Eve and had a good meal. For a quick filling tasty snack, you'll do OK here. Good value too.

To find this place, go to Morristown's green in the centre of town and head out east along the road which leads (eventually) to Madison. It's about 300 yards along on the right hand side.

Borders Books Coffeeshop

This establishment combines the worst of temptations; good coffee, tasty cakes and a huge supply of books and CDs. Lethal. Stay away if you value your wallet. On the other hand, you could just give up and indulge. It's a bit pricey, especially for the cakes, but they are delicious. A large latté, a slice of apple cherry cobbler and a newly bought volume of Knuth -- hard to beat for an evening's entertainment.

To find it, head east on Route 10 from East Hanover. You pass Kids 'R' Us on the right, the Travelodge on the left, then want to take the jughandle to turn left towards Circuit City, Linens 'R' Us and Borders. You can't miss the café once you're in Borders.
